Variants: Volkswagen Golf 2017 is offered with both 2 door as well as 4 door options on four trim levels (Base,S,SE, SEL) with varying level of equipment. The Base version comes only with the two door option but still packs a lot of advanced features like Cruise Control, Hill Hold Assist, Bluetooth Audio & Phone connectivity. Tilt Adjustable Steering, Height Adjustable Seats, etc.

Engine & Transmission: The 1,8L Turbocharged engine is available with both Manual (5 speed) & Automatic transmission (6 speed). The EPA indicates a combined fuel efficiency of 29 MPG which is an average of 25 in the city & 37 on the highway. The car was tested to reach 60 mph in 7.8 seconds which makes this one of the fastest hatchback in its class. Only flaw with the automatic transmission is it does not settle on any one gear while going at lower speeds which makes lane changes a little tricky.

Drive Quality: The Volkswagen Golf 2017 is a very comfortable car to drive and the big windows and short wheelbase make it an easy car to drive/park in the city. The suspensions are well setup for city drive and crease out small potholes with ease.

Conclusion: Overall the new Volkswagen Golf 2017 is a very nice to drive hatchback with the quality & reliability of Volkswagen packed with features and gives good competition to its rivals Mazda 3 & Ford Focus hatchback.
